OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POSTUnder the overall authority of Head of UNESCO Ha Noi Office and under the direct supervision of Education Programme Specialist, the volunteer will undertake the following tasks, in close collaboration with the Project Officers.
- Support in editing/proofreading a draft education sector analysis (ESA) report and some other reports/documents to be produced within the framework of the project on supporting the Ministry of Education and Training in preparing the ESA report and developing a new 10-year education development strategic plan 2021-2030, funded by the Global Partnership for Education
- Support in editing/proofreading project documents, including reports, web stories and other documents relating to ethnic minority topic, within the framework of the project on promoting gender equality and girls’ education in the ethnic minority areas in three provinces (Ha Giang, Ninh Thuan and Soc Trang) of Viet Nam, funded by UNESCO Malala Fund for Girls’ Right to Education
- Support in developing and reviewing communication materials for the 2021 UN Free and Equal campaign, e.g. web stories, Facebook posts, etc.
- Contribute to the development of new project / research proposals, including a new research proposal with the Department of Anthropology of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities
- Undertake any other tasks, deemed appropriate by Head of Office and Education Programme Specialist
Duration: The duration of the assignment will be from June to December 2021.
Work place: It is expected that the volunteer will work at home and there will be no work space for the volunteer in UNESCO located in the Green One UN House in Ha Noi.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor or higher levels in Education, Social Sciences, Political Science, International Development or other related fields; specializations in education and gender issues are most desired.
- Working experiences in the areas of Education, Social Sciences, Political Science and International Development will be an asset.
- Strong teamwork skills with good communication, common understanding of, and commitment to the work assignment
- Highly organized and self-motivated
- Good computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and related programmes
- Committed to deadlines
- Demonstrated personal sensitivity and commitment to the values and principles of equity, gender equality and cultural diversity

Languages: Excellent written and spoken English; Ability to write and speak Vietnamese is an asset.
