Logistics Officer - Fleet

Position:  Logistics officer (Fleet)  - National Position 

Reports to:  Logistics Manager

Supervision of: N/A 

Duty station:  Addis Ababa    

Travel: 35%

Duration and type of contract: 1 year with possibility of extension

Role and responsibilities

The purpose of the position is to support the logistics team on the fleet management, and contributes the team to deliver its roles and responsibilities at the highest standard of NRC logistics handbook.

Generic responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  • Follow proper standard NRC archiving procedure and ensure fleet documents archiving done properly on the system and in hardcopy
  • Focal person for the mission’s fleet management
  • Centralize and handle vehicle maintenances at CO level
  • Prepare and compile monthly fleet reports
  • Analyses monthly fleet report and provide feedback to area offices
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement of fleet management
  • Additional Responsibilities requested by the Line Manager

Specific responsibilities

  • Centralize and handle vehicle maintenances at CO level 
  • Focal person to communicate with area offices on fleet matters and ensure the requests addressed timely
  • Conduct technical inspection and ensure road worthiness of the vehicle before deploying to the filed
  • Analyze monthly fleet report and provide constructive feedback to the area office logistics
  • Ensure conducting of scheduled preventive maintenance service for NRC & UN plate vehicles
  • Ensure vehicle related reports done through Terramar platform system
  • Follow-up and resolve issues related to vehicle rental service providers, if any
  • Follow-up the movement of vehicle with the logistics officer in charge of fleet and monitor on a monthly bases the Log sheets report are coherent
  • Follow and monitor the day-to-day fleet activities in collaboration with the Logistics Assistant
  • Ensure the quality of reports before submission
  • Perform other logistics functions as delegated by Logistics Manager

  • Bachelor’s Degree in procurement  and logistics or related field
  • 3 years’ experience in a procurement position preferably with NGOs
