Background

In Cambodia, under its current Country Programme (2019-2023), UNDP Cambodia programme offers focus on development results across three key inter-dependent pillars (prosperity, planet and peace) including inclusive and sustainable growth, environmental protection, climate change adaptation and mitigation, and the opportunities for all to contribute to and benefit from Cambodia’s transformation. Pivotal to our approach is our partnership with the Royal Government of Cambodia, civil society groups, community organizations, development partners, and the private sector on issues related to the Cambodia’s Sustainable Development Goals (CSDGs).

It is indispensable to communicate UNDP Cambodia’s results and thought leadership to demonstrate the Country Programme’s impact through influencing the development and implementation of relevant policies and programmes at both national and local levels. 

UNDP Cambodia is now recruiting up to 03 graphic designers, as service providers, on a Long Term Agreement (TLAs) to support its effort in delivering these results more effectively and meaningfully.

Duties and Responsibilities

The aim this LTA assignment is to provide an eye-catchy and meaningful (graphic) design of the Country Office’s communications and advocacy products as well as the knowledge sharing productions. The designs need to be well consulted with UNDP’s branding guideline and editorial manual.

1] Designing communications and advocacy products such as posters, leaflets, brochures, power point slides etc.

2] Designing pieces of infographic

  • Make concept of intended designs;
  • Generate inventive ideas for the presentation of the data (infographics).Working from data provided in Microsoft Word or Excel, the desingers will be expected to create infographics and work closely with the client to develop and refine the graphics;

3]  Designing report/publication internal layouts and covers;

  • Make concept of intended designs;
  • Layouts should be checked for consistency of treatment, adherence to the established guidelines for the identity of products, and to eliminate any errors introduced in production;
  • Designs by applying established identity developed for publications, including cover, text layout, and treatment of boxes, figures, and tables.

4]  Additional graphic design work as applicable

  • Detailed specifications for each individual assignment will be given to the selected designer as and when the designer’s services are requested.

Competencies

  • Strong theoretical and practical background in graphic design, including the use of design software such as Adobe Creative Suits, Illustrator, In-Design, CorelDraw, etc;

  • Demonstrates a clear and modern style of design, demonstrating an understanding of communications requirements of a UN agency;

  • Experience in data visualization and graphic design;

  • Proven experience in graphic production from start to published/printed product with knowledge of printing processes (offset and digital) and colour management;

  • Good understanding of new and evolving technologies and digital platforms; and

  • Ability to work closely with staff and transfer knowledge on the use of graphic software.

Required Skills and Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in communications, design or related field

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in design and graphic design.

  • Experience in designing for UN agencies and development organizations

Language:

  • Good command of written and spoken English
