Danish Refugee Council, one of the world's leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a qualified Accountant to join our team in Sievierodonetsk office.
Overall purpose of the role: Accountant provides support for the day-to-day functioning of the DRC office in Sievierodonetsk, focused on accounting of fuel and lubricants for DRC fleet, and the implementation of DRC programs in the area of responsibility. The Accountant reports to the Base Manager with technical supervision by Chief Accountant.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
- Accounting of fuel and lubricants, DRC fleet, log sheets tracking, orders for vehicles, keeping an up to date the register.
- Issue and processing of vehicles log sheets, work with accountable persons.
- Accounting of property, liabilities (accounting for fixed assets, inventory, results of economic and financial activities, settlements with suppliers, for services rendered, calculation and payment of business trips, maintenance of advances to employees, etc.).
- Participates in the development and implementation of activities to maintain financial discipline and rational use of resources.

Receiving and controlling primary documentation for the relevant areas of accounting and preparing them for counting processing.
- Reflects on the accounts of the accounting transactions related to the movement of inventory items and money.
- Produces the calculation and transfer of taxes and fees to the budget, insurance contributions to state extra-budgetary social funds, payments to banking institutions, wages of workers and employees, other payments.
- Conducting an economic analysis of the organization's financial activities according to accounting and reporting data in order to identify internal reserves, implement a savings regime and measures to improve workflow.
- Conducting an inventory of cash, inventory, payments and payment obligations.

Prepares data on the relevant areas of accounting for reporting, monitors the safety of accounting documents, prepares them following the established procedure for the transfer to the archive.
- Work on the formation, maintenance and storage of the database of accounting information, makes changes to the reference and regulatory information used in the processing of data.
- Carries out additional assignments of supervisor.
- Accounting, management, transfer of fixed assets, intangible assets.
- Management and write-off of inventories; inventory of fixed assets and stocks.
- Checking the depreciation charge.
- Tracking and document flow control, checking the availability of original documents, drawing up registers of missing documents.
- Registration of acts of write-off of materials.
- Control and participation in the inventory process, the formation of inventory data, the consolidation of the information received.
Required experience and competencies
- University degree in the related field or equivalent (Accounting, Audit, Finance)
- Knowledge of the specifics of accounting and accounting for fuels and lubricants
- Knowledge of accounting features of NGOs and representative offices considered as an asset
- Experience of at least 3 years in accounting
- Knowledge of the 1C 8, BASE programs
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills

Contract length: Until the 30/09/2022 after 3 months of successful probation period with possibility for further extensions.
