This position is located
within the Resource Development Department, whose purpose is to establish
strong, mutually-beneficial connections between the community and the IRC in
Atlanta order to garner community support for refugee clients. The Special
Projects Assistant will work closely with the Senior Development Manager and
Executive Director towards these goals in order to enhance the IRC in Atlanta’s
ability to meet client needs.
This position requires a
minimum of 15 hours a week for at least three months. This position will
require a combination of remote and on-site work, and therefore applicants must
be located near the Atlanta, GA area.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Special Projects Assistant is responsible for supporting the management and implementation of strategic, cross-departmental initiatives that enhance the IRC in Atlanta’s ability to meet client needs; this could include, but is not limited to, conducting research for the agency’s strategic planning process; supporting teams in researching areas for resettlement outside of metro Atlanta; and/or assisting with other community response initiatives as they emerge.
- Proactively carries out project support functions.
- Prepares appropriate spreadsheets for reporting.
- Handles proprietary and non-routine information on a regular basis.
- Provides research and analytical support to Project Managers.
- Provides data entry and management.
- Assists with general outreach efforts with community, civic, faith and business groups, and other organizations.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
