The Senior Human Resources Associate (eLearning) will advise on and support on design and development online platform and distance learning programmes, integration and management of content on Agora.

UNICEF's Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) in Budapest, Hungary provides services to UNICEF offices globally in the areas of Finance, Human Resources, Payroll and Information Technology. 

UNICEF’s Learning Management System (LMS), Agora offers easy, structured and centralized access to learning opportunities for UNICEF staff worldwide. 

As usage has increased significantly, it becomes critical to setup a more sustainable and efficient user support function, assisting UNICEF staff, supervisors, course managers, senior managers as well as partners. 

How can you make a difference?  

The Senior Human Resources Associate (eLearning) will advise on and support on design and development online platform and distance learning programmes, integration and management of content on Agora.  

The efficiency and efficacy of the Senior Human Resources Associate (eLearning), contributes to ensuring that staff within UNICEF develop the skills and knowledge that enables them to effectively tackle their duties and tasks, thus strengthening the capacity and enabling the organization in helping the most vulnerable women and children across the world.  

Key functions, accountabilities, and related tasks:   

Content support 

  • Publish and test learning activities and resources on Agora as needed. This also includes the referencing of selected external learning opportunities such as MOOCs. 

  • Assist with the maintenance of the LMS catalogue on a daily basis by ensuring proper categorization, descriptions, and quality set up of all learning assets. 

  • Conduct quality assurance on Agora to ensure that resources are properly set up (classification, visibility, completion tracking, certificate access, open badges, etc) 

  • Support the development of thematic learning channels. 

Testing of content and platform upgrades 

  • Conduct personal testing of online learning packages that are received and/or published. Coordinate group testing of assets when appropriate. 

  • Create testing plan for system upgrades 

  • Test Learning Management System (LMS) upgrades 

  • Work with IT and platform developers regarding testing results and planning rollout of upgrades 

Providing guidance to developers, offices and administrators 

  • Advise on and support the development of online and blended learning activities, such as self-paced online learning modules, videos and video tutorials, learning paths. 

  • Work with third party content owners and developers on best practices for content delivery. 

  • Provide advice, tools and services to UNICEF divisions and offices worldwide. 

  • Train secondary administrators, course managers and editors on the use of the LMS. 

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of guidance materials as needed. 

Regular communication with Agora users 

  • Develop, publish and deliver monthly newsletters on content in Learning Management System (Agora) 

  • Communicate about learning opportunities through appropriate channels (Intranet pages, communities of practice, social media, specialized sites, …). 

eLearning content editing 

  • Identify minor changes to content which can be done in-house 

  • Perform minor editing on e-learning content on platform as necessary 

  • Schedule other updates with either third party developers of in-house developers as necessary 

Assist with end-user support 

  • Respond to queries from users of the learning platform and provide technical assistance to facilitators and subject matter experts to publish and manage. 

  • Work with the Customer Care team to resolve technical issues with the LMS System. 

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

  • Completion of secondary education (i.e. high school diploma) is required. University Degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Human Resources, Public/Business Administration or any other relevant field is an asset.  

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant practical work experience in curriculum design, e-learning development is required. 

  • Experience and knowledge of various computer platforms and applications is required. 

  • Experience in developing user guidance & how-to guides is required. 

  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (Moodle, Totara) is required. 

  • Professional training expertise an asset. 

  • Experience using PowerBI Service (online) is an asset. 

  • Fluency in English (both spoken and written) is required. 

  • Knowledge of an additional UN Language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is considered an asset

Internal applicants are required to complete the GSSC Learning Paths for the level of this post. 

For Vacancy Announcements in 2021, internal applicants who are only able to complete the self-directed online components of training courses in the Learning Paths due to non-availability of workshops during the time of the Vacancy Announcements, are required to complete the workshop components during the selection process.
