Position: Research Associate for the project LIFE DICET - Deepening International Cooperation on Emissions Trading

The research assistant will provide research assistance by leading and executing research, capacity building and dissemination activities:

  • carrying out research on EU climate and energy policies and support in writing the fifth report and related policy brief of the LIFE DICET project on International Cooperation on Emissions Trading;
  • contributing to the preparation of other project deliverables, including the final reporting documents;
  • active participation in the policy analysis, research, capacity building, communication and dissemination activities of FSR Climate; and
  • involvement in new research proposals and projects, if and when relevant.

Term, Experience Level, Special Requirements: 

  • Essential: MA degree or equivalent in environmental economics or sciences; sound knowledge of energy and climate economics with a good and continuous publication record in relevant journals; proven research experience and interest in emissions trading; proven strong research, analytical and writing skills. 
  • Desirable: PhD in Economics or climate-related issues; proven experience and knowledge of research and policy analysis; teaching/ training experience in ecological economics and climate-related issues; proven knowledge of theoretical/empirical methods to deal with the research in the aforementioned areas; previous involvement in international projects would be an asset.  

 

Contract type

  • Full-time for a duration of 6-7 months, and to start date as soon as possible with possibility of renewal and extension for a period of service up to a total of 5 years.
  • The basic net monthly salary is approx. 2,591.27 Euro, plus allowances if applicable.
  • Place of Work: Flexible, to be agreed with Project Director
