Mission and objectives

We mobilize volunteers to serve in UN agencies, both in development programmes and peacekeeping operations. UNV champions environments in which volunteerism can flourish. It pushes for the ability and right of people to participate in their own development.

Context

The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) in Iraq would like to expand its partnerships with all organizations that work with and engage volunteers through their projects and programs.. This will promote volunteerism as a tool to achieve development and peace in Iraq and mobilize more volunteers across all projects and programs. That is why we are looking for an online volunteer to help us identify active Volunteer Involving Organizations (VIOs) in Iraq and build an updated database that can be easily shared with all stakeholders.

Task description

UNV Iraq seeks support from one online volunteer to explore active Volunteer Involving Organizations (VIOs) in Iraq and their priority areas. The volunteer will search for active VIOs, validate their existence, and provide brief information about their work areas, programs, and contact details. The final document will include a list of voluntary organizations and institutions in Iraq. There will be regular communication via Zoom and email to discuss matters relating to your task. UNV Iraq will generate a certificate of appreciation for the selected volunteer by the end of the assignment.
