Engage with volunteers and channelize the teaching supply to, where the need is Leverage technology as a means, in this process of orchestration of supply versus the need.

Context

We seek passionate volunteers for helping the rural children continue to learn through the eVidyaloka platform. We need help in revising various Math/Science concepts for the children of the age group 10-13 (grade 5-8). Resources are customized based on State board curriculum. In this program students will learn through eVidyaloka platform, which is mobile friendly and also available as an app. Digital school partners will enroll a group of students who do not have access to schools/infra and enable them to attend the video sessions through the eVidyaloka platform. The initiative aims at improving the learning outcome of the children and ensure that they understand and apply the concepts of their respective standards in their regular curriculum subjects.

Task description

eVidyaloka is looking for passionate Online Volunteers to teach a set of enthusiastic children in a rural village, through Google Meet, and conducts a live, interactive class for 1 hour every week. The subjects to be taught are English, Mathematics, Science. Each Online Volunteer is assigned a grade (5th, 6th, 7th or 8th) in a school located in one of the remote villages of Andhra Pradesh. The Online Volunteers need to be fluent in Telugu and can be from all walks of life. Powered by advanced technology and an elaborate syllabus, Online Volunteers virtually engage with the children once in a week and help the students revise the concepts and help them clarify the questions if the concept is not clearly understood by the students. They extensively use online teaching resources, including digitized textbooks that is provided to them. They are also offered constant support from an online eVidyaloka Coordinator at the back end.
