Mission and objectives

Universal versatile society is a non-political, non-communal and nonprofit making, non-governmental voluntary social organization registered under Societies Registration Act-XXI of 1860 with Registration No. Maha/514/05/Akola on dated 30/06/2005 by the authority of Govt. of Maharashtra’s Asstt. Registrar of Societies, Akola Region - India. With the vision of preventing the farmer's suicide plight in Vidarbha through sustainable agriculture we have established Universal Versatile Society. We have begun our first activity with ‘CAP4School’ (Computer Awareness Programs) project by participating 12 rural schools to our activity. With the support of iEARN (International Education and Resource Network) we have brought glorifying success in project based learning in rural schools. Since after that we have switch our focus to agriculture, women empowerment, health, etc. For our remarkable progress in field of Environment, Education, Rural Development and Women Empowerment, we have been awarded with ‘Certificate of Merit’ by world CSR Congress. Our contribution to poverty alleviation, education, agriculture, rural development has been remarked by International organizations like Bahrain government, International Poverty Center, PLAN International, Leipzig University Germany, GTZ Cooperation, United Nations Environment Program TUNZA, Climate Reality Project, etc. Trust and acceptance of thousands of our beneficiaries is our asset. We are stepping the heights of success due to our dedicated team of volunteers, staffs, committee members, supporters, stakeholders and the very special donors.

Context

Our organization is UNEP and UNCCD accredited orgaization working to address SDG 12, 13, 14 and 15. Since three years, we are publishing 'Weekly World Climate Change News' (#wwccnews). This task is associated with 'Climate Change Action of SG13. Our emphasis for these Online Volunteer assignments is to create mass awareness amongst the global audience about environment issues through the news stories written and added by the Online Volunteers which will then be published on our YouTube channel 'Weekly World Climate Change News'.

Task description

Today's world pressing issue is Climate Change, it's consequences need to be addressed regularly. To facilitate this, we are publishing the 'Weekly World Climate Change News' on our YouTube Channel. We monitor environment related worldwide updates from sources such as United Nations Environment News, UNFCCC Newsroom, UNDP News Center, etc. The Online Volunteers are supposed to extract, edit and compose weekly news from the given raw stories by duly crediting the sources used. Online Volunteers are expected to collect or edit 5 news weekly. All the 15 candidates will be doing same task of collecting news and submitting to the News Editor on weekly once basis.
