The Pacific Community (SPC) is the principal scientific and technical organisation in the Pacific region, supporting development since 1947. The Operations and Management Directorate (OMD) provides corporate services to all SPC divisions and programmes. It consists of three key teams: Finance, Human Resources and Information Services. OMD is focused on improving the effectiveness of systems, policies and management to provide high-quality customer-oriented services.

The Human Resources Intern will provide a hands-on 6 months’ work experience with the Suva Human Resources team. The key responsibilities of the role include the following:

  • General Administration Support
  • Reception Duties
  • File Management
  • HR Project Support

Key selection criteria

Applicants must be either:

  • a university student enrolled at a tertiary institution in Fiji in a programme of study that has a specific specialisation in a relevant field such as human resources management, business administration or commerce
  • an individual who has graduated from a relevant undergraduate degree within the previous 12 months

Salary, terms and conditions

Required starting date – As soon as possible

Allowance – FJD $20 to $40 per day

Duration – There is one full-time internship available for 6 months. The duration of the internship will depend upon the tertiary institution’s course requirement for a work experience attachment and not exceeding 6 months.

Working hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 am–4:30 pm.
