Mission and objectives
The United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) was established by Security Council resolution 2100 of 25 April 2013 to support political processes in the country and to carry out a number of security-related tasks. The Mission has been asked to support the transitional authorities of Mali in the stabilization of the country and implementation of the transitional roadmap, focusing on major population centers and lines of communication, protecting civilians, human rights monitoring, the creation of conditions for the provision of humanitarian assistance and the return of displaced persons, the extension of State authority and the preparation of free, inclusive and peaceful elections. Context
• Ensure the effective upstream and downstream flow of communications for the desired outcomes by each staff member. • Conduct a routine work on the warehouse internal process improvements to review the bin cards and ensure the real-time transaction in Mission data base. • Achieved the cycle count targets in line with the Mission KPIs. • Pursue the required the data analysis for fast consuming items for management decision.
Task description
Under the direct supervision of Regional Supply Officer, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks • Supervise the receiving, inspection and issuance of Mission items; prepare and submit Cargo Movement Re-quests (CMRs) to MOVCON for transfers of materials from one location to another. • Review approved requests for all commodities, and issue them in accordance with approved quantities, appropriate scales of issue, mission priorities and stock availability. • All transfers and issues of items are done through UMOJA – the organization uses an ERP called UMOJA for the management of its inventory. • Supervise the receipt/deliveries of all stock from/to sectors and the accuracy of the delivery against the database; participate in Receipt and Inspection of items delivered by vendors. • Coordinate the conduct of cycle counts, bring any noted discrepancies to the attention of the Supervisor; establish and maintain appropriate warehouse facilities for commodities, control all items subject to storage expiration and assist operating a commodity disposal system in accordance with UN regulations. • Review and analyses the undetermined Umoja warehouse transaction to comprehend for corrective action. • Conduct the cycle count and achieve 25% lines of items of the warehouse by every quarter, working towards a 100% inventory count by May 31st to complete the inventory count. Inventory reconciliation to identify and correct the discrepancy if any happen with the coordination and approval of supervisor. • Participate in Receive & Inspection process and ensure to confirm the Putting away in Mission Data base, Umoja within allowed time. • Effective Implementation of Bin cards in Warehouse and container Yard to record all stocks in/Out transaction in real time of the event. • Review and analyses the undetermined Umoja warehouse transaction to comprehend for corrective action.
