Background:

The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe promotes the implementation of OSCE principles and commitments, as well as the co-operation of the Republic of Tajikistan within the OSCE framework in all three dimensions. It is involved in a wide range of activities, ranging from counter-terrorism and border management projects to supporting cross-border markets and free economic zones, human rights, media development, and legal reform initiatives.

The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe (POiD) is looking for additional Cooks to establish a roster of candidates willing to serve on a short-term basis in future. 

NOTE: The selected candidates will be on a roster and might be contacted as per operational need.


Tasks and Responsibilities:

Under the overall supervision of the Materials Management Officer, the successful candidate will be tasked with the following duties:

  1. Preparing lunch in accordance with the daily menu and meal timings and serve lunch in the offices's canteen five times per week. 
  2. Responsibles for daily shopping and proper storage of the food stuff.
  3. Ensuring that products used for meals are of good quality.
  4. Keeping record on and maintain food-stuff and household supplies of the office's kitchen.
  5. Serving refreshments and meals to visiting officials.
  6. Cleaning all kitchen utensils on a daily basis. Washing and drying all crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils after each meal.
  7. Disposing food wastes and packaging on a daily basis, and incineration of accumulated waste at least once a week.
  8. Disinfect the kitchen once a week.
  9. Perform other duties as required.

Necessary Qualifications:

  • Minimum primary education;
  • Minimum 2 years working experience in cooking and serving;
  • The work requires cooking skills and knowledge of use of kitchen equipment and utensils of the use of cleaning material/solutions, etc.;
  • Knowledge of Tajik and Russian. Basic knowledge of English sufficient to understand simple instructions is required;
  • Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, and an ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities;
  • Ability and willingness to work as a member of team, with people of different cultural, and religious backgrounds, different gender, and diverse political views, while maintaining impartiality and objectivity.

 

Remuneration Package:

Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions, is 375.5 EUR. Social benefits will include participation in the Cigna medical insurance scheme.
