ABOUT THE ROLE

The Transparency International Secretariat is currently seeking a Head of People & Culture to join the Human Resources Team.

OVERVIEW OF KEY DIMENSIONS

Role Purpose: In your role as Head of People & Culture, you will be leading the Human Resources team, nurture our culture and inspire our people. You will strengthen the agility of the Human Resources function, promote a stronger orientation to our purpose and relying on well-developed HR analytics and HR systems to attract and manage talent - nurturing an inclusive environment that responds to people’s aspirations and takes care of their well-being.You will be joining the TI at a time when the post-pandemic “new normal is being shaped and key choices are being made in relation to mental & physical well-being, the digital & physical workplace, collaboration, and environmental sustainability. Salary Band: Salary according to TI-S internal salary structure; for this position corresponding to band M1 a salary starting EUR 68,250 gross per year depending on relevant experience

Starting Date: as soon as possible

Contract Duration: Currently we can offer an employment contract limited for a duration of 2 years. There is a prospect of extension subject to proven performance and funding availability.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE

Based in the People & Culture Team and reporting to the CAO, you will be a team leader with a hands-on approach, a team player with strong interpersonal skills, and a strategic and innovative thinker.  

As Head of People & Culture, you will: 

  • Lead the HR function, including strategy, workforce and resource planning, people management and progress monitoring 
  • Shape the way the Secretariat People & Culture works, ensuring the delivery of state-of-the-art People management solutions, processes, and tools with a focus on further digitalisation for efficiency and analytics 
  • Foster active collaboration and partnership across the organization 
  • Foster an inclusive organizational culture that promotes unity and cohesion to stimulate the enthusiasm and innovation of employees around our strategy and vision 
  • Act as catalyst for change within the team and across the organisation, taking into account emerging trends and new technologies
  • Support the implementation of the TI-S gender diversity strategy and the leveraging of diversity and inclusion as an organisational asset.
  • Proactively provide advice to the Executive Team (CEO and CAO) flagging issues and providing input for their decisions. 
  • Manage all other HR areas of responsibility incluling recruitment, learning and development, job classification and evaluation, compensation and benefits, performance management, HR budgeting, employee relations and employee engagement. 
  • Maintain a strong and successful working relationship with the Works Council (i.e. staff union)  
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable legislations (German labour law, social insurance law, Works Constitution Act, accident prevention regulations, etc.)

CANDIDATE PROFILE

In order to succeed in this role, candidates will need to meet the following:

  • a bachelor's degree or equivalent in management, e.g. human resources, business administration, law, economics, or public administration
  • a minimum of 10 years’ experience in human resources
  • having led human resources functions for a minimum of five years
  • cross-functional team leadership: experience in leading and motivating teams of highly qualified members with diverse, preferably multinational backgrounds to high levels of performance and engagement as well as a track record in creating environments in which teams are willing and able to innovate
  • in-depth knowledge of the latest trends in the domain of people and culture combined with experience of embedding them into the business
  • a track record of driving innovation for people and culture while maintaining high-quality service levels, and of leading transformation in the business through change management
  • a passion for working with multilingual and multicultural organisational environments
  • several years of experience in the field of organisational development and/or change management
  • an advanced (C1) command of English
  • German market experience and German language proficiency are advantageous
