Under the general supervision of the African SIDS Programme Manager, and in consultation with the African SIDS Team and the Technical Network
Technical Focus
Agronomy, agricultural economics, development studies, environmental sciences, business management, international relations, or the like
Tasks and Responsibilities
The consultant in support to African SIDS Programme will:
- Update the African SIDS Technical Network membership list
- Map recent and ongoing projects and programmes implemented in African SIDS contributing to 404-Resilient Agri-Food Systems and Better life (4)
- Prepare workshops, including technical documentation and presentations, lists of participants including partners (IFIs, CSOs, NGOs, UN agencies, Academia, etc.), invitations and confirmation of participation
- Ensure facilitation of workshops
- Prepare analytical reports from the workshops
- Finalize the roadmap and budgeted Work Plan for African SIDS
- Identify potential partners/donors for resources mobilization by priority area
- Perform other related duties upon request
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING:
Minimum Requirements
- Academic qualifications: university degree in a field closely related to FAO’s work (such as agronomy, agricultural economics, development studies, environmental sciences, business management, international relations, or the like)
- Experience: minimum 3 years of relevant experience in addressing development challenges in SIDS, including agricultural value chains and/or food systems analysis and development, etc.
- Working knowledge of English (C level) and one FAO language B level for Consultant, for PSA.SBS Working knowledge of English (C level)
