Introduction

Great science needs great people: join CERN’s Human Resources Department as a Talent Acquisition assistant to play your part in advancing scientific research. If you have a genuine interest in people and HR operations, hands-on experience dealing with HR matters, along with an eye for detail and proven interpersonal skills, this is the right position for you. You will join the Talent Acquisition team (HR-TA) which handles recruitment and sourcing for students, graduates, associates and staff at CERN. 

Functions

In a dynamic team running the various employment programmes offered by CERN, you will:

  • Provide administrative support to candidates and hiring managers with regards to talent acquisition matters.
  • Organise, facilitate and actively participate in the selection committees and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the applicant tracking system. Ensure requisitions are closed and candidates are dispositioned in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate interviews and contact applicants as needed.
  • Draft and extend offer letters to candidates and follow up until contract signature.
  • Assist with sourcing candidates to attract a diverse, quality talent pool.
  • Answer frequently asked questions from candidates related to standard policies, hiring processes, etc.; refer more complex questions to appropriate recruiter.
  • Assist with the onboarding process.
  • Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of recruitment files and records.
  • Create a positive experience for every candidate.
  • Support the efforts of development and implementation of new processes, programmes and ways of working.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Higher administrative diploma or equivalent relevant experience in the field of administration, human resources or a related field.

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Talent Acquisition Assistant or relevant human resources / administrative position in an international environment. 

Technical competencies:

  • Knowledge of administrative rules and procedures: HR administration.
  • Knowledge of the HR practices in member states: good understanding and a keen interest in talent acquisition best practices.
  • Customer service: providing positive candidate and hiring manager experience.
  • Use of office software packages: including good knowledge, practice and understanding of social and professional media tools.

  • Achieving results: delivering high quality work on time and fulfilling expectations; having a structured and organised approach towards work; being able to set priorities and plan tasks with results in mind; delivering prompt and efficient service taking into account customer needs.

Language skills:

  • Spoken and written English: ability to understand and speak in professional contexts, as well as prepare/draft and/or translate accurate texts.
  • The ability to understand and speak French in professional contexts would be an advantage or willigness to acquire it rapidly.
