Mission and objectives

CAEPA Cameroon’s goal is to enhance agriculture and ensure environmental protection within communities. 1. To amerliorate human nutrition and health. 2. To protect the environment. 3. Training programme on community development activities. 4. Campaigns on environmental protection and organic farming.

Context

.Irregular and poor rainfall in recent years led to a 40% reduction of planted areas in Cameroon. Severe land degradation has been observed throughout the years in Balikumbat subdivision in the North-West Region. Women farmers in Cameroon are seeking ways to improve their harvest yields, crop quality, and plant uniformity. They also seek to save water, reduce fertilizer and pesticide use, and improve their largest investment, their family and farm. With the environment gradually degrading and the conflict forcing people to look for new ways to make a living, there is an opportunity to empower women as farmers, by training and teaching innovative farming practices for sustainable growth while building business and commerce in the region. The purpose is to develop productive, profitable farming systems which conserve the energy, are environmentally sound, and ensure food safety and quality.
