KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

Under the direct supervision of Programme Associate and overall supervision of Head of Field Office in Kayah Emergency Response, the incumbent will perform the following duties: -

  • Organize and facilitate target communities for necessary criteria for food entitlement, facilitate beneficiary selection in order to ensure the food assistance effectively and efficiency for implementation of food assistance operation.
  • Verify the planned movements and distribution of food or non-food items, reporting issues or discrepancies to the supervisor for timely resolution of problems and to ensure that the quantity distributed, and the quality of the operation is in line with WFP standards.
  • Maintain information records and monitoring plan documentation, such as records of commodity movements and programme checklists, in order to assist in the effective delivery and distribution of food items or non-food items.
  • Collate assistance programme(s) data in accordance with clear direction, in order to support programme reviews and informative decision-making.
  • Liaise with cooperating partners and internal counterparts to gather feedback and comments to support programme reviews and improve services.
  • Receive and collate comments and feedback from cooperating partners, beneficiaries, and beneficiaries, to support identifying programmatic issues with a view to fostering efficient operations.
  • Provide guidance for cooperating partners on WFP operational practices, monitoring tools and methods in order to support them to complete self-monitoring tasks and to contribute to the visibility of WFP in the coverage areas.
  • To support the Cooperating partners and local government departments in the preparation of Food/Cash Request Letter, Monthly distribution reports, Payment Claim, call forward/preposition of food. 
  • Prepare field mission reports to document programme implementation. 
  • Follow set emergency response processes and procedures for emergency food assistance. 
  • Perform any other appropriate duties as requested by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

  • Completion of secondary education. Relevant post-secondary qualification will be an added advantage.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Four or more years of responsible programme experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office skills in Excel and PowerPoint.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Proficient in the use of office equipment and computer software packages, such as Microsoft Word. 
  • Knowledge of work routines and methods to complete processes under minimal supervision. 
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously independently.
  • Proven ability to conceptualize, develop, plan and manage programs, leadership and teamwork skills, good analytical, communication, negotiation and advocacy skills;
  • Ability to work in a team and establish effective working relationships with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.

LANGUAGE 

  • Fluency in both oral and written communication in Myanmar and English.
