This position will be responsible for the management of daily operations relating to the processing of US payrolls for WCS expatriates including delivery of net pay through ACH or foreign exchange, and US compliance. The Manager, Global Payroll will work closely with WCS’ Global Tax Advisor to ensure reporting is provided for local compliance and tax equalizations. Additional responsibilities include assisting with the monthly, quarterly, and yearly reconciliations of Global staff earnings as related to 941 and W-2 processing, backing up the bi weekly US payroll processes, and supporting the overall WCS payroll function as required.'
Principal Responsibilities:
- Process monthly US payroll for expatriates in accordance with WCS’ International Compensation and Benefits Policy and Guidelines
- Input detail relating to tax reimbursements and other non-cash items
- Work with Global HR staff to ensure updates have been timely transmitted for the monthly (expatriate) payroll
- Oversee net pay delivery process via foreign exchange and/or ACH for applicable expatriates on assignment in countries including Argentina, Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, the UK and other countries as applicable
- Monthly reconciliation of all pay types related to the International Compensation and Benefits Policy and Guidelines plan (hypothetical tax, housing allowance, COLA, etc.) and corresponding journal entries
- Run bi-monthly time and effort reports and gain appropriate review and approvals to meet Federal Compliance Regulations. Send reminders for past due time and effort timesheets
- Adjust global payroll employees’ salaries upon authorization
- Update position changes (new rates, retroactive calculations, wage letters) upon authorization
- Respond to expatriate, manager and HR inquiries via phone, email and other methods of communication as allowed by WCS
- Manage the expatriate eligibility list
- Submit relevant payroll data including monthly and annual earnings statements to WCS’s Global Tax Advisors and Director of Payroll as required for local payroll processing, local compliance and preparation of expatriates’ tax returns
- Notify WCS’s Global Tax Advisors of joining, transferring and terminating expatriate employees
- Ensure Global payroll issues are tracked through resolution and escalated as appropriate
- Key participant in payroll department systems review and analysis projects, and function transformation projects
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Payroll
Database Management:
- Primary contact for inputting and updating international employee information
- Ensure WCS’s Global Tax Advisors’ secure site is current with global staff information (country assignment, email, approved tax services, etc.)
- Run and manage, catalog reports using SAP and separate report writers
- Help design and develop new reports for finance, grants, and payroll audits
