Pay Rate Starts At: $15.00/hour
Schedule: Must be able to work 2-5 days per week including weekends and holidays. Schedule varies and is dependent on weather and guest attendance; schedule subject to change through the spring and summer.
The Animal Encounters department is seeking dedicated individuals to work alongside Bronx Zoo keeper staff for the 2021 season. Associates will work in a team setting to care for collection animals, maintain keeper and public areas, and provide meaningful and safe experiences for zoo guests. Ideal candidates will have prior experience caring for animals, work well in a team setting, and are interested in delivering an unforgettable visitor experience.
Animal Encounters Seasonal Associate:
Essential duties may include:
• Basic observation of various animals, preparation of diets, maintenance and cleaning of exhibits
• Daily exhibit preparation, feeding, watering, enriching, and cleaning/disinfecting of areas for collection animals
• Remaining at assigned posts to reinforce rules and provide educational information in a friendly manner
