Our team and mission

The Industrial Policy and Auditing Department is responsible for fostering the relations between industry and the Agency, for elaborating and implementing the Agency’s industrial policy, for defining and implementing the geographical return and industrial audit policies, for working closely with Member States on the achievement of their industrial policy goals and for supporting the successful accession of new Member and Cooperating States.

The Industrial Audit Services Office is in charge of defining overall policies for cost audits; negotiating industrial hourly labour rates and overheads; auditing direct expenditure on cost reimbursement contracts and co-funded contracts and coordinating audit activities with relevant national authorities where applicable. It conducts audits of companies in order to ascertain the correctness of data entries in the ESA geo-return databases and the financial viability of contractors.

We are a team of (13) driven professionals located in 3 different ESA establishments (mainly ESTEC) that perform a wide range of audits to the Industrial Partners working with ESA, but also provide consulting services including assisting in price negotiations, reviewing financial proposals, business plans, etc.

Our vision is to provide high-quality audit services that achieve cost effectiveness and value creation and thus we are constantly challenging ourselves to secure the maximum benefit of what we do!
