Our team and mission

The Programme Management Support Group undertakes effective resource planning and monitoring, including schedules, financial resources, procurement plans, workforce and asset management;  coordinates Directorate activities related to industrial policy and geographical return; is the custodian on behalf of the Director of the E3P Programme contingency financial allocation; maintains, by working in coordination with the E3P Programme Manager and the Strategy and Coordination Group, the consolidated ten-year E3P programme financial plan as a management tool and input to the financial part of the Agency’s Long Term Plan; implements a comprehensive Management Information System (‘dashboard’); enables successful project and programme execution by providing project control, IT and documentation configuration management, financial accounting and administration functions including support to procurement, contract changes, and risk management and provide a single interface to the Agency’s corporate services for areas falling under the responsibility of the function; among other tasks. 

 

The Cost Centre Control and Support Services Team is responsible for the preparation and control of the Directorate’s Cost Centre budgets, financial plans, workforce plans, and for the preparation and regular update of the Directorate dashboard reporting tool.

Field(s) of activity for the internship

You can choose between the following topics:

 

1) Topic 1: IT Business tool evolution and development

As an intern, you will support the ongoing evolution and optimisation of the IT business tools and user-interfaces considering the latest developments of technology and to be compatible with the ESA corporate IT solutions, business needs as well as security regulations. You will contribute to the definition and implementation of a continuous improvement scheme for the Directorate’s internal processes and methods.

 

2) Topic 2: Digitalisation of business reporting

As an intern, you will support the evolution of business reporting using modern platforms and contribute to the relevant reporting procedures (including dashboard reporting, balanced scorecard, and key performance indicators). You will support the evolution of the budget, workforce and reporting IT tools and processes.

Education

You must have student status and be enrolled at university for the entire duration of the internship. You should preferably be in your final or second to last year of a university course at master’s level in a technical or scientific discipline.

Additional requirements

The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset.

 

1) Topic 1:

  • Academic background and experience in IT Business tools and reporting
  • Understanding or practical experience of Power BI, and Business Objects (or similar) is desirable though not essential

 

2) Topic 2: An academic background or professional knowledge in business processes and a good practical knowledge of SharePoint and Power BI is considered an asset.
