Context

The Learning Passport - https://www.learningpassport.org/ Platform UNICEF Supported Digital Education - is an ambitious partnership between UNICEF, Cambridge and Microsoft. It aims to improve the education of millions of vulnerable children around the world who face barriers to learning due to poverty, discrimination, conflict and disasters like COVID-19. The platform for São Tomé and Príncipe will offer a digitalized curriculum with textbooks and interactive content, in national languages. The elaboration and curation of the contents will be carried out in conjunction with the Ministry of Education (MEES) to meet the specific needs of students and educators.

Task description

The scope of work is presented below, with a breakdown of the main functions, duties and responsibilities 1. Be responsible for the visual identity process of digital materials for the Learning Passport and the Digital Learning Program. 2. Update social networks and other digital communication tools of the Digital Learning Program. 3. Coordinate the use of equipment intended for the actions of the Digital Learning Program at schools. 4. Work with the Digital Media Laboratory, carrying out the necessary training for the teams that will use this laboratory. 5. Coordinate and support the production of videos to be used on the tracks on the platforms and as support material for teachers. 6. Coordinate and supervise the work of producing digital materials with young volunteers, teachers and students involved. 7. Serve as a support lead in troubleshooting and for users and stakeholders at key engagement moments, e.g. supporting searching and uploading content in collaboration with education staff and government agencies, creating categories, courses and lessons, and providing analytical reports of the data aggregated by the platform. 8. Provide technical and operational assistance to develop digital learning content (e.g. curation, digitization, localization, production), with a special focus on Portuguese language and mathematics. 9. Develop digital content in schools (in partnership with teachers and students) and upload the developed materials. 10. Contribute and manage knowledge resources and support general knowledge sharing by producing knowledge management resources, organizing activities to ensure sharing, exchange and collaboration, and documenting lessons learned, challenges and good practices. 11. Support training sessions and capacity building activities related to LP on the island of São Tomé. 12. Take actions that contribute to stakeholders to support the development of digital safety guidelines and an effective strategy to promote the use of LP among parents, teachers, students and other community members. 13. Provide contributions to update/share information about the LP on UNICEF social media or blogs. 14. Contribute to making LP accessible to children with disabilities and children in remote areas. 15. Support UNICEF São Tomé and Príncipe in other activities related to the agenda of the Reimagining Education initiative in the country. 16. Document the actions taken, generating evidence in images, videos, audios and texts to 17. Disclosure of the Learning Passport and the Digital Learning Program as a whole. Results/Expected Outputs ● Planning of Digital Learning Artifacts associated with them. ● Registration of Accomplished Teachers. ● Launched courses. ● Planning for dissemination and engagement of the Learning Platform with students and teachers. ● Report on the use of equipment in the pilot schools and the situation of the equipment. ● A monthly status summary on deployment progress. ● Information about the work developed in an integrated way with teachers for the production of digital learning valves. ● Elaboration of the training schedule with teachers and students in an integrated way with MEES. ● Evidence of training carried out with students and teachers, including a survey to assess participant satisfaction. ● Analysis of bottlenecks and areas for improvement. ● Summary about the digital curation created for the learning platform ● Final list of contents made available on the Learning Platform. ● Consolidation list of training courses carried out. ● Consolidation list of curations carried out. ● List of pots produced with a focus on children with special needs. ● Narrowing list of built-in digital tubes for the platform. ● List of missing actions developed in an integrated manner with the other areas of UNICEF in São Tomé. ● List with final platform utilization indicators in 2023. ● Consolidation of the data requested here for sending to MEES and Learning Passport. ● Report of other activities developed with the PAD ● Update evidence on the Digital Learning Program.
