The Database Management Assistant, at a GS5 level, in the Fundraising area, in the partners section of the Chile office, reports to the Business Intelligence Associate, who is at a GS6 level. The Data Analysis Assistant will provide support in the generation of reports that help the Fundraising team make decisions based on data, something that is key to achieving the goals of the area.

Under the supervision of the Business Intelligence Associate, the incumbent will provide support in the processing, exploration, and segmentation of data, in addition to the construction of predictive models.

This position will help the work plan of the Fundraising area in the following ways:

  • By presenting new metrics that evaluate the performance of the campaigns, it helps maximize their effectiveness
  • By collaborating in the creation of predictive models, it participates in the generation of key tools for decision making
  • By integrating data between systems, it allows information to remain consistent and correct

How can you make a difference?

  1. Conduct data analysis obtaining data from of donors, prospects, hand-raisers, leads and any other entity relevant for fundraising
    • Identify metrics of interest for decision making
    • Detect deviations and anomalies in the data, compared to the expected values ​​and the goals established periodically
    • Segment donors, prospects, hand-raisers and leads based on the needs of the acquisition, retention, legacy, and other campaigns that are carried out by the Individual Donors team.
  2. Prepare reports and data visualizations
    • Prepare the data (perform data cleansing, adjust the format, automate import processes) to be shown in reports and visualizations
    • Create reports and visualizations that are updated frequently, as requested by the Fundraising team
    • Perform maintenance tasks on reports and visualizations that are currently in use
  3. Support the construction of data prediction models
    • Perform data explorations, looking for relevant patterns and variables that describe the behavior of donors, prospects, leads, and hand-raisers
    • Generate SQL data queries that obtain the required input for prediction models
    • Assist in the implementation and validation of the generated models
  4. Provide support in data processing tasks
    • Build ETL processes (Extraction, Transformation and Loading) that integrate the different data sources managed by the Business Intelligence area

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Completion of secondary education. Desirable technical and/or university-level courses in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Data Analysis or any another related field relevant to the post is an asset.
  • A minimum of 5 of relevant professional experience in database management and data analysis.
    Technical knowledge in: SQL Server, MySQL, Azure SQL, T SQL, advanced use of MS Excel and other tools: SSRS, Power BI. Knowledge of languages R and Python is a plus.
  • Fluency and excellent writing skills in Spanish are required. Proficiency in English is desirable, but not required.
  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergencies is considered an asset.
