Level : Senior Programme Manager â Protection â Head Office
Location : Pailan, KOLKATA
Essential Qly. : Advanced University Degree in Social Sciences, Law or Allied fields.
Experience : Proven progressive professional experience in the field of child
protection, child development, human rights and/or social development.
At least 15 years of professional / sectoral experience
Employment Type : Contract
Languages known : Professional English and Bengali language skills. Hindi desirable
Job Responsibilities : --
1. Coordinate the activities of CINIâs Child Protection Unit providing technical and administrative support to CINIâs Child Protection Programme within the framework of CINIâs policies and methods, including the 5-year strategic direction/plan of the Institute, in the area of child protection.
2. Support and coordinate with the child protection programme team in planning and monitoring child protection activities at the levels of head-office and field-offices.
3. Support and coordinate with the child protection programme team in the field units in formulating and implementing child protection projects, assisting in project/programme design, donor relationship and reporting functions.
4. Represent and position CINI in the broader child protection policy and programme environment at international, regional, national and sub-national levels, establishing steady relationships with relevant government departments/ministries, technical organisations and funding agencies.
5. Provide effective guidance in carrying out advocacy and networking activities to influence policy-making in the area of child protection.
6. Keep abreast with recent developments and trends in child protection-related realms at the national and international levels to guide the CINIâs child protection team and extend technical support to the government and other key technical bodies.
7. Introduce, document and evaluate innovative approaches to enhance child protection especially in emerging areas of concern, such as, for example, online abuse and exploitation of children, preventive child protection approaches and violence against children.
8. Represent CINI at relevant government and civil society platforms to share learning and influence policy and programme development.
9. Actively monitor CINI programmes and projects through regular and frequent field visits, data collection and information exchange with CINI field teams and partners/stakeholders.
10. Ensure appropriate planning and financial control of the activities and funds managed by the Child Protection Unit on a regular basis.
11. Visiting various Unit Offices & State Offices for technical guidance as & when required
12. Represent CINI in various National Forums
13. To perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
