Introduction
The mission of the Green Climate Fund is to assist developing countries to respond to climate change while bringing prosperity to their people. Established in 2010, the GCF invests in transformational climate projects in the developing world. The Fund makes an ambitious contribution to global climate action and channels significant financial resources into developing countries to help build low-emission and climate-resilient societies. It is country-driven and undertakes actions that reflect the circumstances of each country concerned and its national aspirations. The GCF is a key enabler of the 2015 Paris Agreement on Climate Change. Since its establishment, the GCF has approved 190 projects in 123 countries and has committed USD 10 billion in climate finance. In addition, it has built up an extensive program to support developing countries to identify their needs, in particular, those who are most vulnerable to climate change impacts. The GCF’s diverse workforce is advancing its mission from its headquarters in South Korea. Internship Assignment  

 

The Intern will provide operational and administrative support to the Office of Human Resources. In this assignment, the intern will be able to learn of the HR main processes; s/he will be exposed to different areas as organizational wellbeing, learning and development, onboarding, event plan and coordination, talent management, culture development, and communication strategy.  

Under the overall guidance of the HRBP and Organizational Wellbeing Specialist within the ​Office of Human Resources​, the Intern is expected to: 

 

  1. Supporting GCF’s Wellbeing programs and culture circle-related activities on GCF People Plan.  

  1. Provide administrative support for procuring vendors and building networks related to organizational Wellbeing services. 

  1. Participating in data collection, analysis, and classification to support policy development and HR projects. 

  1. Maintaining Human Resources information system records, compiling reports, database, etc as required. 

  1. Supporting HR team in other administrative works as required. 

 

Requirements and qualifications

 

  1. Enrolled and pursuing last year of Master’s program (or recently graduated) in ​Human Resources, International Business, MBA,​ or related fields;  

  1. Good understanding and experience in Human Resources and operations of international organizations is an added advantage; 

  1. Proficiency in using standard software programs: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access; 

  1. Excellent writing and presentation skills; 

  1. Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of another United Nations language, in particular French and Spanish, and/or Portuguese is an advantage. 

*The person assessed by the Selection Panel as most suitable for the position will be proposed for appointment. The above criteria should be seen as indicators of the experience and skills that would qualify candidates for consideration. Selection among short-listed candidates will also take into account performance at interview, appropriate testing, and references.
