Introduction
The mission of the Green Climate Fund is to assist developing countries to respond to climate change while bringing prosperity to their people. Established in 2010, the GCF invests in transformational climate projects in the developing world. The Fund makes an ambitious contribution to global climate action and channels significant financial resources into developing countries to help build low-emission and climate-resilient societies. It is country-driven and undertakes actions that reflect the circumstances of each country concerned and its national aspirations. The GCF is a key enabler of the 2015 Paris Agreement on Climate Change. Since its establishment, the GCF has approved 190 projects in 123 countries and has committed USD 10 billion in climate finance. In addition, it has built up an extensive program to support developing countries to identify their needs, in particular, those who are most vulnerable to climate change impacts. The GCF’s diverse workforce is advancing its mission from its headquarters in South Korea. Internship Assignment  

 

The General Services Team (GST) is part of the Division of Support Services, and provides cross-cutting support to all GCF divisions, offices, and personnel in the areas of 

  • General Services, including immigration, visas, import/export, vehicles, and onboarding 

  • Facilities Management, including maintenance, physical access and security, and capital projects 

  • Health and Safety, including building/regional evacuation, and travel/event safety, and 

  • Corporate Security Services, including physical and information security 

 

GST will be undertaking several transformative internal projects that improve and automate service delivery for GCF personnel. The Intern will provide support in GST to ensure that these initiatives are planned, managed, and delivered effectively. S/he will have the opportunity to learn and expand her/his experiences by helping in the ​analysis, documentation, and improvement of GST processes.​ 

 

Under the overall guidance of the designated primary and alternate supervisors within GST, the Intern is expected to: 

 

  1. Prepare process documentation for GST services in the areas of General Services, Facilities Management, and Health and Safety. 

  1. Assist GST in defining, measuring, and reporting service quality metrics. 

  1. Assist GST in procuring and implementing online training materials for health and safety, including building evacuation, fire safety, and information security. 

  1. Assist in implementing automated and improved integration of third-party safety and security service provider (International SOS) systems with GCF’s travel management system (Concur). 

  1. Work on additional operational tasks as assigned by the Corporate Security Senior Specialist.  

 

Requirements and qualifications 

 

  1. Enrolled in Master’s program in ​Business, Information Technology​ or related fields;  

  1. Knowledge and experience with ​documentation, process mapping, and process improvement​; 

  1. Good understanding and experience in customer service / operations of international organizations is an added advantage; 

  1. Proficiency in using standard software programs: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access; 

  1. Excellent writing and presentation skills; 

  1. Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of Korean is an advantage.
