Who are we?

The Danish Refugee Council is working in more than 40 countries and keeps expanding its global reach. In that tremendous growth, the need for a global, robust IT approach has become more and more important in order for us to provide efficient security and protection to the people we serve. We balance development of new innovative projects and programs with maintenance and expansion of our ERP platform in Microsoft Dynamics. In all activities, we have security and data protection in focus and will continue to strengthen this area.

About the job

The primary focus is to drive and deliver IT projects bringing value to DRC operations and field programmes. All projects have a strong need for IT security, GDPR compliance and more generally data protection. In this job you will:

  • Drive global projects for example: GDPR implementation, deployment of global solutions, expansion of local solutions or standardisation of core IT approaches.
  • Establish and anchor IT security processes from definition through maintenance across the areas Identify, Protect, Detect to Respond and Recover.
  • Drive business case/rationale for investment priorities across security and data processes and tools.
  • Engage in dialogue with external partners to gain funding and support for secure IT and digitalisation platforms as critical foundation for our assistance to displaced populations over the course of our Strategy 2025.
  • Engage with IT and business stakeholder to evaluate and introduce tools, controls, processes, and measures which keep us on top of a solid IT landscape.

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have at least 5 years documented project management experience, and experience within the IT security area would be a plus. You know how to leverage key IT methodologies and demonstrate the ability to turn challenge into opportunity - with colleagues within and outside the IT organisation. You are pragmatic and focused on delivering solid solutions within DRC strategy and mission.

Moreover, we also expect the following:

Required

  • Hold an academic master's degree
  • Have strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Track record of successful project delivery
  • Knowledge of key IT methodologies (PMI, Agile, ITIL).
  • Execute against set plans and drive focus on goals and outcomes
  • Be persistent, resilient, and structured
  • Show strong and inclusive interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

Desirable

  • NGO-experience
  • Experience working in global and cross functional teams
  • Experience with IT security projects
  • Knowledge of French and Danish is desirable

We offer

Contract length: Permanent

Workplace: Borgergade 10, Copenhagen, Denmark

Start date: 1 April 2023 or later.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the agreement between DRC and AC. This is contractually a national position for which local terms and conditions apply.
