Our team and mission
The Ariane 6 Launch System Engineering Team is part of the Flight Programme Department and carries out activities relevant to the Ariane 6 mission and system engineering.
In 2023, the team will be fully involved in Ariane 6 combined tests and the preparation of the maiden flight campaign. Both activities are under direct ESA responsibility and provide an ideal overview of integration of a system under development in recurrent exploitation.
Working closely with the French Space Agency (CNES), Ariane Group and Arianespace, the team is also in charge of the development of the Astris kick stage and any evolutions in the structures of the upper part of the launcher.

Field(s) of activity/research for the traineeship
As a Young Graduate Trainee, you will join our team and contribute to thermal structural engineering activities relating to the:
- development of the Astris kick stage and any evolutions in the structures of the upper part; or
- assessment of the Cryogenic Connection System (ECT CCS) development test results and preparation of their qualification during the launch system combined tests; or
- preparation for the Ariane 6 maiden flight, in particular by drawing up the test specification, test plan and instrumentation plan.

You should have just completed or be in the final year of your Master’s degree in a technical or scientific discipline.
Additional requirements
You should have just completed or be in the final year of a master’s degree in a technical or scientific discipline.
You should have good interpersonal and communication skills and should be able to work in a multicultural environment, both independently and as part of a team.
The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset.
