OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST Long Description

Finance and Treasury

 

Support the AO in managing daily financial transactions

Maintain UIL limpest Accounts both in EUR and USD

Act as Certifying Officer with authorised limit

Ensure that all payment requests and contracts have been properly committed in accordance with the prevailing financial rules and regulations

Manage Imprest postings in MM and TV Modules in FABS Disbursement Receipt Vouchers and Bank reconciliation on monthly basis

 

Accepts and liquidates obligations Investigates erroneous charges and takes corrective accounting actions

Reconciles and reviews suspense accounts and ensures proper clearance procedures

Prepare financial reports on regular budget and extrabudgetary projects

 

 

 

Long Description

Certify as supervisor for all ADM contracts in the system

Prepare financial analysis

Support in ensuring closing of accounts during year end

Prepare account for replenishment on monthly basis

Forecast cash flow in consultation with AO

Analyses controls and maintains relevant general ledger accounts including scrutinizing source documents for completeness accuracy and validity of changes

Prepares worksheets with detail analysis and assists in preparation of financial statements by compiling and consolidating data from various sources Prepares and checks trial balance  Prepares draft cost estimates and budget proposals and participates in budget analysis and projections

May approve or certify disbursements up to an authorized level Provides support with respect to the review analyses and preparation of the medium term plan Drafts prepares correspondence and responds to queries  Supervises other support staff as required

Long Description

Extracts details of income expenditures assets and liability from the accounting system to analyses and verify accuracy and validity Consolidates data into financial statements and assists in monitoring expenditures to ensure they remain within authorized levels

Verify and correct the financial documents facilitating in clearance of bank reconciliation

Verification and processing of all travel bills as authorized on official missions

Maintain relations with the office's bank for verifying account status

Tax

Lead to manage all tax issues for the institute Responsible to collect all Tax reimbursement from Government and reconcile with accounts

Other

Support HR   and Act as fixed asset focal  point

Undertake any other task as requested by the Finance and Administrative Officer or the Director

Completed University degree with Masters in the field of finance  accounting and any other relevant field

At least five years relevant experience in a UN agency or International Organisations and  NGO or a development agency

Good knowledge of financial and accounting processes with Application of IPSAS and IAS

You have a proven ability to work independently

You have good communication and interpersonal skills

You are proficient in modern office procedures the MS Office package a well-known database as well as Adobe Acrobat

You have excellent command of English and basic level of German

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Skills Competencies

Knowledge in SAP R3 would be an asset

Additional professional part qualification in ACCA or CA 

Knowledge of UNESCO norms, administrative procedures, and standard practices

Languages

Good command of German and knowledge of French would be an asset
