Result of Service

For each of the above assignment, ensure to submit preliminary design layout and typesetting for discussion with the secretariat, revise the selected design layout and typesetting as discussed with the secretariat, allow two rounds of correction of the secretariat in the development and finalization process, implementation of the design in all official United Nations languages as and if required.

Duties and Responsibilities

Background
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment.

The Multilateral Fund for the Implementation of the Montreal Protocol (MLF) is dedicated to reversing the deterioration of the Earth's stratospheric ozone layer and reducing consumption of high global warming hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs). It was established in 1991 as the financial mechanism of the Montreal Protocol to assist developing countries (Article 5 countries in the language of the Protocol) in complying with their obligations under the Montreal Protocol. The MLF is managed by the Executive Committee, which is assisted by the Fund Secretariat, located in Montreal, Canada and administered by UNEP (www.
multilateralfund.org).


Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Information Management Officer, the consultant will create the Secretariat’s brand guidelines and improve the overall visual identity of the Secretariat, including production of visual assets.

1. Design a series of corporate products as agreed with the Secretariat. This will include:
a. Infographics
b. Templates/letter heads
c. Signage and posters

2. Provide advisory services to the product designs as required.

Qualifications/special skills

Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in graphic design or related areas. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

A minimum of five years of professional experience in graphic design and layout, typography and typesetting is required.
Experience in developing design proposals for brand identities, sign systems, social media graphics, posters, brochures, reports and web graphics is required.
Ability to research, analyse, evaluate and synthesize complex information and present it in a user-friendly and visually appealing format is required.
Knowledge of key branding and corporate identity concepts is required.
Full command of the Adobe creative suite (CS5 or higher) applications such as Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign, and Flash, as well as other applications such as Microsoft Visio is required.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this contract, fluency in written and oral English is required including excellent analytical and drafting skills. Working knowledge of at least one other UN official languages is desirable.

All products developed and delivered through this consultancy shall remain the exclusive property of the MLF secretariat and shall not be divulged and/or used without prior written authorization. The consultant will prepare an overall work plan for the initial contract period at the beginning of the assignment, which will be discussed and agreed with the supervisor.

The contract will be on part-time basis with a duration of one-year from 15 March 2023 to 29 February 2024:
Deliverable: 10 Infographics - Fee: 500$ each
Deliverable: 10 Signage and posters - Fee 300$ each
Deliverable: 10 Templates/Letter heads - Fee 200$ each
Payment will be issued for each individual deliverable.
