Purpose of the job

The operation team is accountable for ensuring that all SNV operation procedures (Procurement, logistics, Administration, safety, security and IT) are adhered to and implemented in a manner that is compliant with SNV policies, standards and procedures.

The Operation Intern will be part of the operation team in Addis Ababa and will support the operation team on different supply and logistics activities. The intern will work directly with the Operation team, and indirectly with partners, internal departments, suppliers and, other stakeholders.

    Job Description

    • Provide support and receive or send goods at the warehouses or projects.
    • Support and Participate in stock reconciliation, procurement process and partner assessment.
    • Support on implementation as well as improving electronic and hardcopy archiving system.
    • Provide support to logistics in fleet management and tracking system.
    • Assist in the planning and capturing of fleet-related data in ERP and share point
    • Assist on implementation, checking, and preparation of reports as well as procurement and logistics files.
    • Support Admin in organizing field visits, events, review meetings, workshops and training sessions.
    • Communicate effectively with customers, carriers and teammates (phone and email correspondence).
    • Assist with the supervising and coordination of the activities of disposal of assets, stock items, and files.
    • Support in supervising and following up on office and warehouse construction as well as the payment process.
    • Assist with forecasting, inventory planning, scheduling, purchasing, and market assessment.
    • coordinating with other departments, drivers and workers.
    • Assist in reviewing of order acknowledgments, price changes and analyzing impact.
    • Assist with soft and hard copy archiving based on SNV standard procedure
    • Assist with importing data in SharePoint and assigned SNV site
    • Assist in updating information on the operation library based on SNV standard structure.
    • Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university with logistics and supply chain management or any other areas that can bring an added value to the post.
    • Fresh graduates with no experience.

    Required Skill

    • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in excel, word, outlook, and access
    • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
    • Knowledge of and experience in organizational effectiveness and administrative/operations and customer management implementing best practices.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative style.
    • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
    • Ability to work under pressure, and prioritize workload according to the changing needs of the project 
    • High attention to detail with a bent towards data analysis.
    • Good problem-solving skills and dependable, self-motivated.
    • Willing to work additional hours at crucial times.

    Contract Duration: One Year with the possibility of extension
