Context

The WHO Pacific Climate Change and Environment (PCE) team collaborates with Pacific Island governments and partners to build capacity in assessing health risks; develop and implement policies, strategies or regulations for the prevention, mitigation and management of the health impacts of environmental risks; and advocates multi-sectoral engagement to address environmental risks within and beyond the responsibilities of the health sector. Under the supervision of the PCE Team Coordinator, the incumbent will provide project management support to the following projects: 1) Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA)-funded project on Strengthening Health Adaptation Project: Responding to Climate Change in Fiji (KOICA SHAPE) 2) Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA)-funded project on Making Health Adaptation for the Future Resilient Islands – Kiribati Outer Islands Climate Health Ac-tion (Te-MaMAURI KOICA) The two projects are designed to strengthen climate change adaptation in two Pacific Island Countries – Fiji and Kiribati. The UNV will be based in Suva and will support the PCE team, the WHO Office for Kiribati, and the Ministries of Health of Fiji and Kiribati.

Task description

Under the direct supervision of the Pacific Climate Change and Environment (PCE) Team Coordinator, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks: 1. Support overall project management including financial statements, day-to-day opera-tions, monitoring and evaluation of activities. 2. Provide substantive support to consultative and other meetings and workshops with partners and stakeholders by preparing and distributing agenda and documents, con-firming the attendance of meeting members, and maintaining records of all meetings. 3. Assist in preparing various written outputs as project biannual and annual reports, sec-tions of reports and studies and inputs to publications. 4. Support the team on recruitment processes through providing assistance on drafting reports and internal selection process 5. Perform other duties as required
