Company Description
SNV is a global development partner, working on the core themes of gender equality and social inclusion, climate adaptation and mitigation, and strong institutions and effective governance, with a focus on the Agri-Food, Energy, and Water sectors.
Central to the organisation’s new long-term strategy, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals through to 2030, is the mission:
To strengthen capacities and catalyse partnerships that transform the agri-food, energy and water systems which enable sustainable and more equitable lives for all.
Founded in the Netherlands in 1965, we have built a long-term, local presence in more than 25 countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Our global team of national and international advisors and professionals works with local partners, businesses and stakeholders to equip people with the tools, knowledge and connections they need to increase their incomes and gain access to basic services – empowering them to break the cycle of poverty and guide their own development.
We co-develop know-how for developing contextually relevant solutions to deliver results at scale worldwide, with a commitment to equity directing us to particularly focus on gender and youth.
Our projects directly benefit millions of people. At the same time, we are increasingly focused on enabling systems changes through deeper partnerships and more effective influence, which help many more people work their way out of poverty, well beyond the scope of projects. We are proud to be a not-for-profit organization, committed to efficiencies and operational excellence, which enable us to reach the greatest numbers of people.
Entering into its next strategic chapter, with a strong reputation for technical rigour, impactful projects, robust operations and financial health, SNV is ideally placed to increasing the contribution we make to accelerating and scaling impacts at this time of widespread global need and complexity.
