About the Project
SAATHII is implementing a project titled "Decentralizing pediatric TB care services in public & private health sector" across selected geographies. The goal of the project is to decentralize and enhance sample collection to increase pediatric TB case identification, especially among young children, by building capacities of block-level public and private sector facilities across selected five districts (Amravati-Maharashtra, Bhadradri Kothagudem-Telangana, Rajnandgaon-Chhattisgarh, Cachar-Assam, Agra-UP) of five states.
Job Description
SAATHII seeks nurse mentor based at any of the project geographies or any other location feasible to commute to project geographies to provide mentorship support in the project âDecentralizing pediatric TB care services in public & private health sectorâ.
Project Duration: 3-6 months
Start Date: 1st May 2023 (preferred)
Reporting to: State Technical Specialist
Specific responsibilities
⢠Train and mentor nursing staff and medical officer on the sample collection procedures (gastric aspirate, Induced sputum, nasopharyngeal aspirate). Improve the competency of the nurse and medical officers on sample collection.
⢠Provide hands-on training of the gastric aspirate. Induced sputum and nasopharyngeal aspirate procedure to the nursing and medical officer.
⢠Build rapport with facility staff and execute participatory, self-assessment exercises with the teams to analyse the situation and identify solutions in various aspects of pediatric TB sample collection. Facilitate team building and systems improvement and build a positive environment in the facility.
⢠Support the program team in developing or revising operational guidelines/SOP for pediatric TB activities
⢠Undertake any other activities and responsibilities as reasonably required by the project and organization
Qualifications and Skills:
⢠Qualified Nursing â B.Sc./Diploma/M.Sc. Nursing
⢠Strong communication and leadership skills
⢠At least 5-10 years of nursing experience, especially proven pediatric nursing experience on pediatric sample collection (gastric aspirate, induced sputum, and nasopharyngeal aspirate procedure)
⢠Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the team
⢠Willingness to travel project geographies frequently and work flexible hour
⢠Proficiency in Hindi language.
