Overview of position

Reporting and under the supervision of the Commissioner NRC, the Coordination and Reporting Specialist will play a key role in ensuring effective and efficient coordination of program activities, as well as timely and accurate reporting to key stakeholders.

Role objectives

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with different stakeholders, including government institutions, development partners, NGOs, and communities, to ensure coordination and implementation of DDR activities in line with the program objectives.

  • Develop and implement reporting mechanisms that ensure timely and accurate reporting of key indicators and results to donors, government institutions, and other stakeholders.

  • Develop and maintain program databases and information management systems.

  • Conduct field visits to monitor and supervise program implementation and provide support to field staff.

  • Provide technical assistance to program staff in developing work plans, monitoring and evaluation plans, and reporting requirements.

  • Provide inputs to program design and strategic planning processes in close coordination with the program manager.

  • Provide support in the development and implementation of program communication and advocacy strategies.

  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Commissioner.

Project reporting
  • Develop and implement reporting mechanisms that ensure timely and accurate reporting of key indicators and results to donors, government institutions, and other stakeholders.

Key competencies

Work Experience:


  • Experience in managing, supervising, and coordinating teams, including experience in capacity development and training.

  • Experience working in fragile or conflict-affected settings, preferably in Africa.

  • Experience working with government institutions, UN agencies, international organizations, and civil society organizations involved in DDR program implementation.

  • Proven experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting, as well as monitoring and evaluation of programs.

  • Experience in program planning, monitoring, and implementation, and understanding of the logical framework approach, results-based management, and project cycle management.

 

Skills and Competences:


  • Excellent analytical, communication, and coordination skills, both orally and in writing.

  • Strong leadership, team management, and diplomatic skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, with minimal supervision, and to meet deadlines.

  • Very good organizational and administrative skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholder groups, including communities, government officials, NGOs, UN agencies, and other partners.


  • Fluency in English and Amharic, both orally and in writing. Knowledge of other Ethiopian languages would be an asset.
