Who are we?

The International Partnering Team is a part of the global HR Department. Our team of 7 employees (6 excluding the manager) provides HR tools and guidance across 6 domains to enable our operations to operate with duty of care. As a member of our team, you will impact staff development and engagement by providing policies, processes, and tools to senior managers, HR teams, and staff across our operations.

 

About the job

We have an excellent opportunity at the Danish Refugee Council for a HR Partner to join us for a maternity cover and provide support and expertise to our Country Operations and Regional Offices. You will focus on the Middle-East region delivering effective and proactive HR support.

You will use your experience to monitor processes, advise and coach senior managers on DRC’s 6 HR services areas: People Planning, Recruitment, Performance Management, Development, Well-being, and Compensation and Benefits. You will be a trusted solution oriented sparring partner, continually driving best practice and ensuring compliance with DRC’s procedures, policies, and employment legislation.

You are experienced in supporting and enabling line managers to competently deal with performance, disciplinary, crisis management and duty of care.

Your role will be instrumental in supporting the capacity building of our HR colleagues in country operations.

 

About you

We are looking for a candidate who has several years of experience in international HR and is committed to ongoing professional growth and development. You should be highly motivated and able to work independently, with a strong focus on providing high-quality service and achieving excellent results for clients. You are able to challenge the status quo and are comfortable sharing your ideas with colleagues and managers.

 

As an excellent communicator, you possess the ability to listen and understand diverse perspectives and use this skill to translate them into practical policies and procedures. You also have a natural inclination towards analysis and enjoy engaging in productive discussions with colleagues and managers to consistently improve team performance. Furthermore, it is natural for you to bridge opinions by demonstrating excellent cultural understanding and stakeholder management at relevant organizational levels.

 

All employees should master DRC's core competencies: Communicating, Taking the lead, Collaborating, Striving for excellence and Demonstrating integrity.

 

Moreover, we also expect the following:

Required

  • At least 3 years’ experience in providing HR support to decision makers, with an INGO or international organisation
  • At least 2 years’ experience developing and drafting HR policies and procedures 
  • Experience working effectively and cooperatively with diverse stakeholders
  • Direct experience facilitating organisational change processes
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English
  • University degree within a relevant area

Desirable

  • Project management experience
  • Previous work in a humanitarian and/or development organization
  • Written and verbal communication in Arabic would be an asset
     

We offer

Contract length: 12 months (maternity cover)

Workplace: Copenhagen, Denmark

Start date: August 2023

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the agreement between DRC and AC.

This is a national position for which local terms and conditions apply. If necessary, DRC will assist the selected candidate with obtaining the necessary work permit.
