Mission and objectives
Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, established in December 1991 by General Assembly resolution 46/182. OCHA is the part of the United Nations Secretariat responsible for bringing together humanitarian actors to ensure a coherent response to emergencies. OCHA also ensures there is a framework within which each actor can contribute to the overall response efforts. OCHA's mission is to mobilize and coordinate effective and principled humanitarian action in partnership with national and international actors in order to alleviate human suffering in disasters and emergencies; advocate the rights of people in need; promote preparedness and prevention and facilitate sustainable solutions.
Context
With this task, OCHA in Switzerland is aiming to increase inclusion and outreach for supporting the wellbeing of their staff, mainly located in the field. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to implement creative ideas, learn about the work of the staff counsellors/staff psychologists working in emergency context in the humanitarian field.
Task description
OCHA Switzerland is looking for the support of an online volunteer for video creation and edition for their Welfare Platform. This platform contains resources for staff wellbeing and for emergency response. Your tasks include recording and editing 10 to 12 short video interviews, with subtitles, of maximum 5-7 minutes each, with psychologists, experienced humanitarian workers, covering topics on health and wellbeing for the OCHA Welfare Platform.
