Organizational Setting
The HR and Travel Assistant provides and coordinates day-to-day HR and Travel operations, including specialized and complex processes and functions, ensuring consistency, timeliness and conformity with relevant rules, procedures and practices. He/ she provides procedural guidance to staff across the Organization regarding HR and Travel rules and procedures.
Reporting Lines
Under the general supervision of FAO Representative in Iraq and in close cooperation with the HR Unit, the incumbent shall perform the following duties in support of the implementation of the FAO programs in Iraq.

Tasks and responsibilities
• Assist in NSHR recruitment process, including, preparation of VA, longlisting/shortlisting, organization of the interviews, preparation of selection reports, selection and recruitment as per FAO HR policy and the guidance of the HR UNIT in the regional office;
• Assist in providing information on entitlements; review, maintain and update confidential personnel information records and files in the area of responsibility;
• Assist the HR Unit in handling non-routine and complex cases; undertake research and analysis of entitlements in consultation with HR officer in the regional office;
• Assist in travel related actions, such as, raising TAs, LTAs, Consultant Appointment TA and closing TECs in GRMs;
• Insert attendance sheets of consultants in the system;
• Perform other related duties as required.
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
Minimum Requirements
• A University degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or any related subject.
• At least four years of relevant experience in administrative and/ or human resources work, UN experience is an asset.
• Working knowledge of English is required with Arabic mother tongue.
