Functional Responsibilities
The Project Management Support - Senior Analyst will undertake the following activities/responsibilities:
Technical support
Technical support
- Support the project team in engaging and coordinating with EU candidate countries, EU institutions and relevant stakeholders on EU accession (process) related technical assistance and capacity development matters, to ensure effective project delivery (sourcing and timely deployment of highly-qualified experts, organization and conduct of missions and substantive events, etc.).
- Provide technical inputs, assessments and EU-expertise to the project, ensuring effective project delivery and supporting highest quality standards, while continuously improving UNOPS service offerings to EU candidate countries, selected under project.
- Support in drafting concept notes, terms of reference, designing and developing technical assistance and training components in relation to the reforms that EU candidate countries, selected under project, are undertaking with the view to their respective EU integration process, including those required for project coordination purposes, as well as towards the design and organization of substantive meetings, events and missions.
- Ensuring effective dissemination and access to information on programme activities and results, including the drafting of quarterly info flashes and website content updates.
- Provide support for the project’s communication and visibility activities in full conformity with the donors’ regulations and guidance.
- Support the development of communication plans for the project; monitor the effectiveness of external communications, in close cooperation with AUMCO communication specialist.
- Support the CTA in coordinating stakeholder engagement and communication, ensuring effective timing and interdependency management of communications.
- Knowledge building and sharing with regards to the development and implementation of the project, synthesis of lessons learnt/best practices, and sound contributions to UNOPS knowledge
- Support assessments and review of consultant deployments, including evaluating performance criteria under the guidance of the CTA and project manager
- Support drafting of progress reports as required by the organization's standard procedures
- Assist in review of analytical country reports / fact sheets with overall recommendations for continuous improvement, as required.
- Ensure effective meeting coordination, correspondence with EU interlocutors, follow up on deadlines, commitments made, actions taken and coordination of collection and submission of reports to CTA and project team.
- Donor reporting - prepare initial drafts, collect and sort data from internal and external sources, prepare statistical charts, tables and other; collect and file all the supporting documents (document management).
- Plan and participate in regular project team meetings and missions (as required) and prepare respective minutes/protocols of the meetings.
- Perform other duties as required and in line with the incumbent’s scope of services above.
Education/Experience/Language requirements
Education:
- First-level university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in Law, Business Administration, Economics, Political Sciences, Public Management, International Relations, with an emphasis on European Law, OR
- Advanced university degree (Master’s) in Law, Business Administration, Public Management, International Relations with an emphasis on European Law
- Minimum of two years of experience in performing EU enlargement policy related administrative, organizational and/or project support activities (in an EU institution) is required.
- Experience in project and/or event management activities will be considered as an asset
- Experience with international organizations is desirable but not mandatory
- Fluency in written and spoken English and French is required
- Any language of the countries of the Western Balkan region is considered an advantage
