This senior position is created based on the award of Thar Shadaab Project and will also support other ongoing projects such as mainly “Adapting to Salinity in Indus Basin – Living with Salinity Programme in Sindh”, both in Sindh province. This will be a senior position requiring extensive responsibilities to independently handle the projects, from start to completion, along with donor interaction, reporting and budget handling.
Additionally, as this is to be a P2 position, the incumbent will also be giving at least 25% time on programme development – by expanding existing projects to cover more scope and budgets – as well as helping Karachi Programme office with programme development inputs in other ongoing and upcoming programmes and initiatives

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
The incumbent will manage the Thar Shaadaab Project and be responsible for ensuring the delivery of project outputs within the timeframe and budget of the project as well as be responsible for resource mobilization for the project in Thar Desert. Specific responsibilities will include:
 Managing the delivery of project outputs;
 Managing the project’s financial resources;
 Providing planning direction and input to the project team
 Providing logistical support and mobilizing project team in the field for smooth implementation of the project
 Identifying and on-boarding potential project implementation partner at field level and ensure
smooth and quality implementation of the project activities
 Identifying, hiring and supervising consultants and ensuring the timely delivery and quality of
consultancy deliverables
 Collecting information, producing and disseminating reports and documents as required
internally and by the donor
 Maintaining daily communications and working relationships with relevant Government
agencies, communities, and other stakeholders
Reviewing progress, communicating project successes and lessons learnt with regular
monitoring on project implementation
 Managing the mainstreaming of gender in project implementation
Programme Development
 Develop new concepts and proposals for the development of IUCN Pakistan Sindh Programme
 Search and help identify new opportunities for programme growth in Sindh province
 Maintain productive interaction with IUCN donors and stakeholders that are key to potential
initiatives in Sindh
