Organizational Setting

With the creation of the Department for the Promotion of Adequate and Healthy Food in the new structure of the Ministry of Development and Assistance, Family and Fight against Hunger, which is responsible for, among other actions: supporting, developing and implementing training and food and nutrition education actions in an integrated manner with the implementation of the National Food and Nutritional Security System and with other food and nutritional security actions; implementing actions to promote healthy eating and combat all forms of malnutrition; and to encourage the implementation of an intersectoral strategy for the prevention and reduction of obesity. It is necessary to hire a consultant to prepare a proposal to update the Obesity Prevention and Control Strategy and to tackle all forms of malnutrition.

Prepare a proposal to update the Obesity Prevention and Control Strategy and to tackle all forms of malnutrition


Tasks and Responsibilities

• Prepare a Work Plan, in accordance with the model established by the FAO - United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, containing the development strategy for all consulting products, which must be delivered together with the first product to be presented;
• Participate in technical meetings with the team of the Department of Promotion of Healthy Eating and other necessary ones, as required by the coordination of the consultancy;
• Carry out bibliographical research and survey on effective actions for the prevention and control of obesity and all forms of malnutrition.
• Develop subsidies with data on consumption, nutritional status and determinants of the Brazilian population;
• Prepare a proposal for a document to support the Department for the Promotion of Healthy Eating to prepare a strategy for the prevention and control of obesity and all forms of malnutrition;
• Support the organization and preparation of actions provided for in international agreements signed by Brazil for the prevention and control of obesity;
• In locus evaluation of experiences to be explored, analyzed and studied;
• Carry out a survey of other secondary information and develop other activities necessary for the execution of the assignment;
• Organize and systematize the information collected.


CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING:


Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences; Specialization and/or Master's Degree in Health Sciences;
• At least of 5 (five) years of experience in the formulation and/or implementation and/or execution of public policies in the area of food and nutrition security.
• Working knowledge (level C) of English
• Brazilian Nationality or other legally authorized to work in Brazil

Technical/ Functional Skills

Desirable
• At least of 3 (three) years of experience in preparation of materials and/or publications, preferably in the area of Nutrition and/or Food and Nutritional Safety;
• At least of 3 (three) years of experience in monitoring and evaluating public policies, preferably in the area of Food and Nutrition Security.
