Office Cleaner
Permanent. Part Time (either 22 hours or 12 hours per week)
Working pattern – Early mornings and / or evenings. Monday to Friday.
Location – Carronfoot, Thornhill, Dumfries and Galloway, DG3 5BF
Salary – £22,672 (pro-rata. £10.90 per hour)

About the role:
The role is based at our head office in Carronfoot, Thornhill, where we have two buildings (the Stables and the House), as well as an additional property (the cottage) in Thornhill town centre.
As our office cleaner your primary responsibility is to maintain a clean and orderly work environment for employees and visitors.
Your duties may include:
Daily (for The Stables and The House):
- Cleaning and sanitising all common areas, such as reception, kitchens, toilets, shower room / accessible toilet and meeting rooms.
- Sanitising all door handles and light switches
- Vacuuming carpets and stairs and mopping and sweeping floors.
- Emptying rubbish, recycling bins, and ensuring waste is ready for council collections.
- Ensure all door and windows are closed and locked before setting the alarms
Weekly (for the Stables and The House):
- Clean and dust work desks and chairs
- Fill and run dishwashers (or as required)
(for the Cottage in Thornhill):
- Clean kitchen and bathroom including floors
- Vacuum the whole cottage
- Machine wash shower curtain, bathroom mats, kitchen towels and tea towels
- General cleaning of all bedrooms and lounge.
- Empty bins in all areas.
- Machine wash soiled bedding / bath towels as required.
- Ensure all doors and windows are closed and locked.
As required (all buildings):
- Clean windows (inside only)
- Restocking supplies, such as paper towels, toilet paper, and soap.
- Machine wash kitchen towels and dishcloths (at home)
- Reporting any damages, repairs, or maintenance needs to the Admin team
- Undertake any other cleaning duties as directed by the Admin team or management
At all times:
- Operating and maintaining cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and pressure washers.
- Follow Health and Safety codes. Health and Hygiene code of practices in relation to cleaning, e.g. C.O.S.H.H, siting of warning cones, etc.
- Attend any relevant additional health and safety training (including manual handling, handling of hazardous substances)
Requirements
Who we’re looking for:
- Previous experience preferred
- Excellent attention to detail
- Be physically fit to handle the cleaning tasks
- Be able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good communication skills are necessary to report any issues to the Admin Team and to maintain a positive working relationship with all employees
- A UK driving licence would be beneficial, but not essential
Working Pattern:
We are looking to appoint 1 Office Cleaner to cover 22 hours per week, or 2 Office Cleaners who can cover 12 hours per week each (as a job share).
The work will cover Monday to Friday early mornings and evenings (for example 6am-8am and 6pm-8pm), plus 2 extra hours on a Friday to clean the cottage in Thornhill
