Mission and objectives

UNICEF is on the ground in over 150 countries and territories to help children survive and thrive, from early childhood through adolescence. The world’s largest provider of vaccines for developing countries, UNICEF supports child health and nutrition, good water and sanitation, quality basic education for all boys and girls, and the protection of children from violence, exploitation, and AIDS. UNICEF is funded entirely by the voluntary contributions of individuals, businesses, foundations and governments. Based in Geneva, Switzerland, the UNICEF Division of Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP) maximises private income to UNICEF through fundraising and sales of cards and gifts, and manages the strategic relationship with 36 UNICEF National Committees in industrialised countries. PFP also implements global strategies in child rights advocacy, communication and brand positioning in National Committee countries through a range of partnerships, including with the media, corporations, civil society and young people.

Context

In order to translate the GWC coordinated WASH assessment training, The Global Wash Cluster provides scripts that need to be translated to French and English. Voice over will need to be recorded by translators as well in French and Spanish The Online Volunteers will have the opportunity to build connections with the WASH cluster team at UNICEF EMOPS Geneva and learn about the ways in which the translated product contributes to offer accessible learning to all.

Task description

We are seeking 3 Online Volunteers to support us by translating WASH eLearning courses on coordination from English to French and from English to Spanish. And record voice over. To this end the Online Volunteers are asked: - To translate the document, which is 10 hours long from English to Spanish and from English to French - Record Voice over - Ensure the translation is concise, in line with our communications guidelines, and fits the audience The selected Online Volunteers will be provided with the document in the original language and will receive guidance on the target audience and our communications guidelines as well as other guidance as needed.
