As a member of the Engineering Unit, the Project Officer will work under the coordination of the Electrical Engineering, I&C and CODAC Group Leader, and also operationally to the Heating and Current Drive Programme Manager (as a first Programme assignment). The Project Officer will be responsible for managing technical work packages, follow-up industrial contracts, perform the technical supervision of site installation and commissioning activities, and will contribute to the site technical coordination and project management. They will be expected also to contribute both to the System level engineering of the Heating and Current Drive projects helping to ensure the final successful integration and to the organization of relevant transversal activities throughout the organization. The successful candidate may amongst other tasks: • Manage operationally contracts implementation liaising with F4E industrial partners at their premises, including the follow-up of the propagation and the verification of the requirements, configuration management, review of contract deliverables, review and follow-up of technical risks and its mitigation actions and prepare/review of F4E/IO technical document; • Supervise the progress of work packages and/or contracts that implement those by tracking activities against the plan, providing analysis and evaluation of results in schedule performance and cost performance; • Provide technical supervision of the installation and commissioning of the systems in ITER; • Contribute to the technical coordination of the construction and commissioning activities of some of the Heating and Current Drive systems of ITER; • Provide technical expertise on Electrical Engineering and/or High-Power RF engineering both to the assigned project and also by supporting the group leader, to the whole organization; • Contribute to the System Level Engineering of ITER Heating and Current Drive Systems. Help define requirements and functions of its control system; • Lead technical decisions or participate in technical discussion. Contribute to the resolution of technical problems; • Assess relevant manufacturing technologies, test & validate and make proposals for remedial actions; • Supervise external service providers and work of F4E experts; • Report regularly and timely on issues affecting performance, quality, cost and time schedule.
