Organizational Setting
The main aim of the FAO country offices, which are headed by an FAO Representative, is to assist governments to develop policies, programmes and projects to achieve food security and to reduce hunger and malnutrition, to help develop the agricultural, fisheries and forestry sectors, and to use their environmental and natural resources in a sustainable manner. The position is located in the FAO Representation in Tirana, Albania.
Reporting Lines
The incumbent will report to the Lead Technical Officer of the project. The incumbent shall operate under the overall guidance and responsibility of the FAO Representative and Assistant Representative in Albania; technical supervision of the Senior Animal Production and Health Officer and Lead Technical Officer of the Project, Livestock Production Specialist, and in collaboration with other international consultants and national specialists.

Tasks and responsibilities
• With close collaboration with the International Consultant and the LTO identify target communities for FFSs
• Support the implementation of a pre-conditions survey by consulting with public and private extension services about FFS implementation
• Identify candidates for FFS Master Trainers and for FFS facilitators based on the selection criteria provided by the LTO
• Support the organization and implementation of FFS Master Trainers and Facilitators trainings
• Provide support for the IC, MTs and Facilitators in contacting the selected community to understand the area and characterise the production systems
• Jointly with the selected FFS facilitators and Master Trainers carry out awareness-raising meetings in the selected areas for FFSs
• Support the FFS Master Trainers and FFS Facilitators in the identification of participants and focal activities
• Support the service provider in the data and sample collection
• Submit reports on progress against the workplan on a monthly basis
• Act as FAO chief of party for the technical cooperation with the National Training Scheme
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
Minimum Requirements
• University degree in animal production, veterinary, or related disciplines;
• At least five (5) years of experience in working in the Albanian agriculture sector, ideally directly in farming, farm management or food processing and management;
• Working knowledge of English and local language;
• National of Albania or a legal resident in the country with a valid work permit.
