Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly qualified Regional Communication Specialist for Asia-Europe.

About the job

The Communication Specialist will be responsible for leading on and supporting the delivery of campaigns and content for DRC Asia Europe Regional Office (AERO) including videos, photographs, infographics, interactive online projects and support AERO country offices with training in communication as needed, under the supervision of the Regional Advocacy and Communication Coordinator.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Defining the overall vision and developing the strategic direction of DRC communication work in the Asia-Europe Region, while ensuring alignment with DRC’s global priorities as well as with a view to the organizational transformation in DRC globally
  • Lead the development and implementation of in-house creative multimedia content and campaigns in various formats: videos, photographs, infographics, interactive online projects
  • Lead and coordinate the overall communications work of the regional office, including online platforms and social media, traditional media, publications, blogs, branding materials, events and campaigns for greatest impact
  • Provide support to country offices in the region on relevant DRC communication policies and strategies and directly involved in prioritized communication initiatives originating from the countries
  • Ensure all countries content are up to date by scheduling country visits timeline.
  • Conduct training for communication staff across Asia-Europe
  • Update and develop the visual identity of DRC and its guidelines.
  • Focal Point on communication between the county offices, representation (Brussels & Geneva) offices and HQ on ways of working and operationalizing communications principles and strategies.
  • Lead on major multimedia projects;
  • Collaboration with advocacy and media engagement.

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have at least 4 years of experience in multimedia work, preferably in an NGO or media settings.

Moreover, we also expect the following:

  • Experience in graphic design, publishing and layout
  • Experience in film and documentary productions
  • Experience in film, sound and graphics editing preferred
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite applications, preferably InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier and After Effects
  • Previous experience with a digital media outlet preferred
  • Master's degree in graphic design, film or equivalent experience.
  • Full professional proficiency in English
  • Professional writing skills.

We offer

Contract length: 2 years

Band: G non-management

Designation of Duty Station: located in Asia or Europe DRC operation’s office (TBD)

Start date: June 2023

Salary and conditions will depend on location of duty station.
