Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance is a public-private partnership, headquartered in Geneva, committed to saving children's lives and protecting people's health by increasing equitable use of vaccines in lower-income countries. The Vaccine Alliance brings together developing country and donor governments, the World Health Organization, UNICEF, the World Bank, the vaccine industry, technical agencies, civil society, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and other private sector partners. Gavi uses innovative finance mechanisms, including co-financing by recipient countries, to secure sustainable funding and adequate supply of quality vaccines. Since 2000, Gavi has contributed to the immunisation of more than 700 million children and the prevention of more than 10 million future deaths.
 
•    Prepare for the 2024 Budget updates:
o    Assist the BP team during the summer 2024 Budget exercise of the Secretariat and PEF Opex;
o    Prepare for the mid-year reviews, assure integrity of file, information and follow ups;
o    Prepare qualitative analysis and commentary;
o    Ensure communication flows between all relevant stakeholders during the exercise;
•    Master data clean-up and monitoring: 
o    Assist the BP team in updating and monitoring the master data tracking file;
o    Assist the business in the usage of correct dimensions – follow-up action items accordingly;
•    BP Team intranet update:
o    Update the BP team’s intranet with the most up-to-date information and files;
o    Proactive initiatives in making the feel and look appealing for users to use;
o    Proactive promotion of the intranet (no longer sending excel files etc.);
•    Business support in using SAP and SAC:
o    Assist budget owners and focal points in a better usage of SAP and SAC for a more efficient way to monitor budgets;
•    Assist with ad-hoc inquiries
o    Help the BP Team prepare for the monthly performance reviews; 
o    Liaise with the Secretariat & PEF Teams to assist in their work ;
o    Ad-hoc projects as needed.
 
Note: The essential functions listed in this section are not exhaustive of the job responsibilities; other duties may be assigned consistently with the department needs.
•    IT savvy with excellent financial modelling skills, in particular with Microsoft Excel;
•    Ability to think critically, analyse large amounts of data and summarise results;  
•    Familiarity with SAP is an asset;
•    Experience in data governance is an asset;
•    Proactive, independent, organised, thorough, detail oriented.
•    Fluency in English (mandatory);
•    Fluency in French;
•    Fluency in other languages considered an asset.
•    Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Management, or a related field from an accredited academic institution.

Duration: Start: 1 July 2023 (for up to 6 months)

The candidates must be enrolled in a university or have graduated within the past 12 months. 
Interns are expected to be interning on a full-time basis.
