Position: Participatory Guarantee Scheme (PGS) Expert - Aquaculture
Location: Morigaon- Assam
Reporting to: Program Director

Main Responsibilities :
PGS-India (Participatory Guarantee System of India) is a quality assurance initiative that is locally relevant, emphasize the participation of stakeholders, including producers and consumers and operate outside the frame of third party certification.
⢠Taking the lead role in the identification of CRPs and CRP trainers, and ensuring their capacity-building program through aquaculture field school on PGS guidelines.
⢠Development of IEC materials.
⢠Ensure delivering quality training of CRPs by the CRP trainers
⢠Facilitation of quality training for the women fish farmers in alignment with the project objectives with the support of CRPs, CRP trainers and the fellow key experts as well.
⢠Ensure the maintenance of the record book (parts 1, 2, 3,4 as mentioned in the ToR) by the farmers after 3 months of execution of the project.
⢠Regular review and report preparation with the support of field workers, CRPs and CRP trainers
⢠Communication with Stakeholder departments and institution at block and district levels.
Other Responsibilities:
Any other task assigned by the Director/Program Director/Line Manager.
Requirements :
Must possess the following requirements:
⢠A graduate / Post Graduate/ Masters in Aquaculture, Zooology.(BFSc/MFSc)
⢠Minimum 4 years of experience.
⢠Minimum 2 years of experience in natural/ organic farming
⢠Maximum time to be enagaged in field visits.
⢠Experience in PGS is required in any sector preferably in aquaculture.
⢠To be dedicated towards working in rural areas.
⢠To visit 2-3 villages daily and meet at least 10-15 families/farmers per village.
⢠Preference will be given to candidates with two-wheeler.
⢠Ability to work with the local people/village. Local language preferable.
⢠Must have report writing skill.
⢠Working hours â 8.5 hours daily (excluding holidays)
⢠Should be able to travel out of station in case of official work.
⢠Good team player
