Mission and objectives

Hope Foundation is a German and Cameroonian non-profit and non-governmental organization. It was founded by a group of young, dynamic and committed individuals in 2001, with the primary goal of promoting community development and alleviating poverty in rural and impoverished areas of Cameroon. A number of awareness and cultural projects are also carried out within Germany. The Foundation is primarily involved in humanitarian activities aimed at improving the standards of living for underprivileged Cameroonians. Its aid projects span across various fields including education, health, water and sanitation, child care, human rights, environment, women’s empowerment as well as providing assistance to discriminated and disadvantaged community groups such as people with disabilities, street children and orphans. Hope Foundation is a registered charitable organization under Cameroonian law (Registration Number: No.373/G.37/D.14/1/VOL.T/T/BAPP) and under German law by the High Court Charlottenburg, Berlin (Registration Number: VR 29417 B).

Context

Online Volunteers will receive short texts from us either in German or English which shall be translated and later submitted to us to be used for different goals. Volunteer work and tasks will depend on the type of translation method the volunteer uses and his or her availability. Flyers, banners and posters to be translated are not more than one pages. Other important translations will be website texts, reports and project proposals which needs to be translated to German and English to show more about the work we do.

Task description

We presently need the help of 3 online volunteers to support us with translations from English to German and vice versa. These tasks will relate to the translations of texts for the website, newsletters, reports, graphic content. These proposals and concepts are not more than 5-6 pages.
